My second Wedding Blog Wednesday, features the wedding of Gillian and David – both of whom I worked with at Schlumberger several years ago! When Gillian and I first met up to discuss the wedding, Gillian told me it was going to be a non-traditional, wedding. It was going to be a big, relaxed family get together, without many of the traditions and formalities that usually come with a wedding. The focus was on everyone being together and just having a good day!!
On the day of the wedding, I arrived and popped up to see Gillian in her room before heading down to get some relaxed shots of the guests, who were awaiting her arrival. The plan was that Gillian would arrive before the ceremony, which was held at the Village Hotel in Kingswells. David was already there and they both spent some time chatting with their families before a brief humanist ceremony by the wonderful Neil Mellis.
The day went brilliantly, everyone was in great spirits, the ceremony was lovely and relaxed - the newlyweds even let their nieces and nephew decorate their wedding cake at the reception!! We were extremely lucky with the weather which meant we got outside in the sunshine to get some shots. I hope you enjoy some of the images from their big day below!
